When commissioned, I am always keen to experiment with genre and venture beyond the storytelling textbooks in search of the most compelling and evocative way to structure, populate and deliver the story.
In my original work, I like to explore the manifold potential of science fiction as a mirror to our times, fears and hopes, and the ways in which we can initiate the future through its narrative. In particular, I'm interested in the concepts of motherhood and femininity in the context of medical and technological advancements, and the notion of gender within AI and machine learning.
